When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).

After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

V8 conversion manual

Post  DVC on Sun Dec 13, 2009 6:22 pm

This is a great read with lots of really good info and numbers. Even if you've already completed the conversion, I'd recommend you buy a copy. Great resource for this hobby.

Razz

No prob MK.
The "Community" wrote this...
I just put it together.

It could stand to be updated again...
I'll try to get things updated again in January.

Set-back plates have changed, clutch hydraulic fittings updated,
5TH Gear Swap added, and a few minor changes here and there.

Most of the 2009 updates are here...

Thanks DVC!

Well,
Just a slight oversight.

I have Paul's here also...

I'll send the current version to you Monday, but note that the set-back plates on page 48 have been changed, and the Moroso 20140 drawing on page 53 was accidentally mirrored originally (text is correct, drawing is reversed...).

Thanks Greg. I was beginning to think you were going to force me to do my entire conversion without it just to spite my red inkings. Laughing Laughing

Now,
Why would I do that?
Red ink can sometimes be a good thing...

I recently purchased a copy of this book, but haven't gotten any notification except payment received? Approximately how long does it take to ship?

Shipping USPS Priority Mail tomorrow.
I had another run printed, and printing usually takes about a week. You should have it by Friday.

Thanks,
Greg

Awesome. I wasn't sure how "large scale" the book was, I figured it was a good idea to ask. Looking forward to reading the whole thing! Very Happy

Wow -- A conversion manual

Post  BigAl on Fri Jun 04, 2010 3:49 am

I just purchased the manual cuz I gotta do something with that dog of a 944 that's parked in my garage. Actually, I'm the original owner of this 1984 944 and just became aware of this forum and that others have gone down the road ahead of me...

It's still hard to believe that I could really turn this once loved vehicle into a street legal (e.g. smogged) hot rod, but I'm starting to collect parts and whatever info. is out there - can't wait to snap down the hood over that LS1 motor and take the first drive.

At this point, (thanks to the guys here) I'd say there have been quite a few people down the road you're about to hop on. It's since been paved, mapped, and we've even got little shops open along it's long and happy stretches Wink
