HOW TO DO AN ADVANCED SEARCH.
Mon Jul 08, 2013 3:56 pm by Admin
For the benefit of 944Hybrids users there are two search functions available for you to use.
The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.
When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).
After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

Re: BMW Hyrdoboost Questions
I'm not sure if it's even that important to have a reservoir big enough to hold all the fluid. I know the mustang HB holds more fluid than the reservoir does. It also has an accumulator, but it's built into the HB itself instead of a separate bomb. There are plenty of of larger reservoirs available though that could be remote mounted to handle all of the fluid in the system.

Sounds like you're bumping up against a lot of the same things I did. I like that PSC unit, but as has been said, the primary disadvantage is that it would have to mounted higher than the pump. The other option I was looking at was swapping places between the PS pump and the alternator. I think there are some kits out there, but I haven't researched it to heavily.
FWIW, this is my current setup.
One nice feature of the stock reservoir is the cap. I think it's designed to relieve pressure above ~ 6psi. Which is pretty nice. I am not sure, but I don't think the PSC cap allows for pressure relief. Maybe it can or one can be fitted to it?

Re: BMW Hyrdoboost Questions
Most of the alternator relocation kits move the alternator forward quite a bit. 944's don't have the room for that at all. They barely have room for the f-body mounts as it is. I know one company that moves the alternator to the spot where the ac compressor goes now. But, if you are building a street car you probably want ac.
