For the benefit of 944Hybrids users there are two search functions available for you to use.
The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.
When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).
After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

Drive by Wire Throttle Pedal Install on 1987 NA 944????
Hi all! and thanks in advance for any help you can give me! I'm new here :-)
Some back ground:
I've got a 1987 Porsche 944 NA project in the works. Motor is in (1999 LS1 out of a Corvette)
ALL components for this conversion are from Renegade Hybrids...and I purchased the "whole ball of wax" lol
This engine came with the "drive by wire" throttle pedal assembly and I KNOW some guys/gals have mounted this pedal in their 944, but for the life of me I can't figure out how!
Renegade sent me a "bracket" to mount the pedal to to put in the 944, but just don't see how it would work!
HELPPPPPPP!!! If you've done this in your 944 I sure would like to know/see how it was done!
After I get this sorted out....THEN I'll move on to final wiring questions from the harness to inside the car lol
Thanks all!
Jim

Thanks! I just found it...BUT...as my luck usually goes...the pedal out of the 99 Vett that I got my motor out of is much wider than yours :-(

it still should be close. I did not use any brackets. There are a couple spacers but that's it. Mounted right where the old one was.

I'm sorry! I forgot to mention that the 944 bracket it not on the side, and the 944 was cable throttle.
Sure theirs got to be a way...just haven't been able to figure it yet. Difference could be that your model is a 924. Bolt holes to mount the Vett DBW pedal are on the back and is wider than yours

Yes mine is a 924. All i had to do is drill 2 holes in the firewall and bolt in place. There are others that use the DBW on this site.

Thanks Kevin!
I hope one of them see this! LOL
Anxious to get that done...and final in-car wiring from the harness so I can try and fire it up :-)
Think posting in another area would help?

FINALLY got the DBW Pedal installed...easy peasey lol
I'm telling ya! Over thinking something can ruin your sleep! LOL
Was looking at the floorboard and the old throttle pedal upper mount where the spring tensioned rod goes, the side of the center tunnel, and the floor board...AND SUDDENLY IT HIT ME!
About $18.00 in a steel "L" bracket and some bolts and voila 1 hour later the 1999 Corvette DBW throttle pedal was in!
1. Remove the throttle rod and spring from the upper mount
2. Bolt the top hole in the DBW pedal to the top mount.
3. Measure and cut a thick steel "L' bracket....put it under the pedal and the bottom mounting hole of the pedal, then bolt one end of the "L" bracket to the tunnel, and the other end to the floor :-)
SOLID S A ROCK! PLENTY OF CLEARNACE!
