HOW TO DO AN ADVANCED SEARCH.

Mon Jul 08, 2013 3:56 pm by Admin

For the benefit of 944Hybrids users there are two search functions available for you to use.

When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).

After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

LS4 - anyone done one?

it features an aluminum block instead of iron, and it uses the same cylinder head as the Generation III LS6 engine. The bellhousing bolt pattern differs from the rear-wheel drive blocks. According to GM, "The crankshaft is shortened 13 mm – 3 mm at the flywheel end and 10 mm at the accessory drive end – to reduce the length of the engine compared to the 6.0L

its quite a different beast. the bellhousing is the same as the small gm v6 pattern, and the biggest issue is the starter mounts to the bellhousing, not to the block. the accessory drive is also on its own.

ive seen this engine mentioned for a lot of ls swaps, what it comes down to is its different enough to make everything hard, and there is really no benefit to it over any other aluminum block ls engine.

Right on. Much what i figured. Theres one for not a bad price but not worth all the differences.

i see the question of these engines come up quite often on different sites. the cost savings of one of these engines would get eaten up in a hurry by the custom bellhousing, clutch and flywheel.
