The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.

When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).

After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

Those headers you listed do have carb #'s. But as soon as you modify one to work in the 944, it will no longer be carb compliant. No one makes a carb compliant header for the 944 LS swap.

Has anyone mocked up aftermarket C6 Vette Longtubes? They appear to hug the block nicely and come together just after the Bellhousing.

I used the PaceSetter 70-2259 headers for a G8 on mine, ~$250 for a set makes them budget. Had to cut and weld both sides, and a little bit of hammering for the starter on the passenger side. For the passenger side, I just cut a slit on the top of all primaries, then I could bend them inwards to clear the frame rails and the A arm mount. For the driver's side, I had to slit the primaries again (to clear the same things), and modify #3 and #5 primaries to clear the steering shaft. For both, I had to move the O2 sensor bung to the side of the collector, as well as slit the top of the collector to bring it down some to better clear the floor. Lots of work, but much cheaper than any other option for long tubes... Very Happy I can get pics if anybody wants.

Nothing off the shelf fits without a bunch of modification. Period.

So decide how much your time is worth to you, than either buy the direct fit headers TPC, Renegade or Kooks sells, or buy something else and spend time modifying it to fit.

If you wouldn't mind getting a few pics of these that would be awesome!

I'll see if I can get some decent pics, they're installed now and it's hot as $#** out, I'll see if I can get some on the 4th (my car sits about 30 minutes away from home)

Driver's side shot:

Passenger's side shot:

Rear view of the headers, you can see where I relocated the oxygen sensor bungs, the exits point straight back, which isn't ideal, but workable I think (haven't made a y pipe yet) Also did 3 inch to 2.5 inch reducers on them.

My remote oil lines BARELY clear, I used 150 degree 10AN fittings here, with a pan from Summit

Where I mounted my oil filter (I may move it farther down as I don't believe it will clear the stock overflow tank

Clearance around the starter, I could have done a little less hammering, probably. I would recommend a starter blanket

Clearance by the washers for the A Arm mounts is close, but not terrible

Sorry for the bad pictures, but they're installed and I didn't take any pictures beforehand, you can see the weld seams, which gives you an idea of how I went about piecing it together, I honestly don't remember what angles I used, I think I had salvaged them off of a previous set of these headers I had failed modifying. The piece that curves towards the block I had to massage a bit with a hammer to clear the steering shaft, works nicely now.

These help me alot, Thank you for taking the time to capture and upload! I am fairly confident that the Aftermarket C6 Longtubes will be a good starting point. Will report back once i get the process going Very Happy

I think that's a good idea, looking at how they're shaped I'd choose those if I were to do it over again
