HOW TO DO AN ADVANCED SEARCH.

Mon Jul 08, 2013 3:56 pm by Admin

For the benefit of 944Hybrids users there are two search functions available for you to use.
The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.

When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).

After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

The car is a 1983 944. The engine is a 2002 4.8 with 50,000 miles on it. I put ARP head bolts in it, different cam shaft, intake manifold, 80 lb injectors, fuel pump and a bunch of little items. I painted the car myself along with everything else was done by me. The engine was originally rated by chevy to make 270hp at the crank, I did have it tuned before the turbo and it made around 315 at the crank or 265 whp. After I fabricated the turbo kit I had it tuned again and it made around 480 hp at the crank or 395 whp on 7 lbs of boost. This was all done on a mustang dyno. My next step is saving for a good transaxle! The car has full interior but I did say goodbye to the AC and it has manual brakes and manual steering. Down right corner to corner road car with no extra frills. The car weighs right around 2800 lbs with a half tank of gas in it.

What size turbo are you running? I am doing a similar build just with an iron block 5.3

It is a precision 6266 with an AR .82 It is pretty small for the application but I wanted it to be as responsive as possible. I wanted it to spool when I was driving slightly aggressive. The turbo supports around 700 hp and so far I love it!

Nice...Yeah I am installing a precision 6766 as well. Shooting for 600 but we will see. Thanks for the info though. Keep us posted on the numbers if you turn it up at all.

What parts of the fenders do you want pictures of? There isn't a lot of extra room in this thing. As for the exhaust I took the stock LS manifolds and turned them backwards and chopped them up and welded what I needed to make work. For the Y pipe it is 2.5 inch and I Y them about a foot before the turbo. I have some pictures if you would like? One of the tightest spots was actually running the exhaust from the turbo out the fender. I made 3 inch oval pipe so the tire wouldn't hit when the suspension compressed.

This is a zombie bump, but I just saw this car in person today and it's pretty damn sweet.

Thanks Harold! It is fun seeing these older posts. The car has changed from these so much.
