After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

AeroCatch pin mounting

Post  rdanford on Wed May 24, 2017 4:23 pm

Going to be removing the stock hood latch to reroute air filter to under the front nose panel and want to use the AeroCatch latches...Where and how are you all mounting the pins?

Thanks!

I used aluminum angles which are clipped into the vertical leg.

The pens are visible. The vertical legs of the angles are the outboard legs and those legs are sheer clipped him to the bulkhead with two 3/16 fasteners. The horizontal leg of the angle also has two 3/16 fasteners so that the forward nose section that covers the filter will install flush. This provides fairly rigid installation for the pins even cantilevered as far as they are. The reason they're cantilevered so far back is so that the catch will not penetrate the forward cross beam of the hood. Take some more pictures so that you can see the sheer clips but everything's covered now for painting. I should have everything stripped back by mid week if more pictures would help let me know.
