For the benefit of 944Hybrids users there are two search functions available for you to use.
The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.
When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).
After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

Plug-in 500 HP crate motor
So the motor for the Franken 44 is up for sale.
It started as a new LS3 crate motor last year. I put LS1 heads on as they are more reliable in road racing situations, and to build mid range torque. It has a small road racing cam in it. It sounds wicked. unfortunately, I only had two weekends on it, and have to part it out, largely for financial reasons. My loss is your gain. Dyno and video attached below. The intake is currently reversed for cowl induction, but this can be flipped to stock easily
$5,000 for the motor alone, with 944 road racing oil pan
$500 for the aluminum flywheel and clutch
$350 for a Quicktime SFI rated LS to 944 bellhousing (bombproof, and no adaptor needed)
$500 for shorty 944 specific, ceramic coated headers
$250 For a beautiful Burns stainless oval merge collector mated to a Nascar boom tube for a side exhaust just ahead of the passenger rear wheel.
$600 for a new GM performance ECU with wiring harness (stand-alone)
$6,500 for the whole package - all + shipping.

Re: Plug-in 500 HP crate motor
As listed above, the BH is $350 + shipping (it's heavy)
I can make a page deal with the motor mounts, headers, and an aluminum clutch any flywheel.

I'm interested in the bell housing if still available, and possibly the manifolds and mounts in a package deal. Cant send PM due to low post count.

All is gone except the exhaust manifolds and LS valve covers. Probably not worth shipping the exhaust manifold - it's heavy!
