When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).

After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

pics getting cut off

Post  sharkey on Tue Jan 10, 2017 2:04 am

ive had this happen on nearly every pic ive ever posted here, it cuts the image off if its too wide. this is the only forum i have the issue with. i hate having to go through pics and shrink them down just for this site.

any way this could get solved?

The max width is 675 pixels, like you my pics kept getting chopped so I figured out the limit.

I have other frustrations with the dated forum software as well, but not my forum so I endure and smile.  I have thought about hosting my own forum, but do not want to risk bringing damage to the community. There are few enough consumers for this specific content that I fear any kind of split could be damaging.

But this forum software and layout is really, really terrible.  On this site, I find about 50% of the space on my primary monitor is just wasted .. and that does not include the space lost to sidebars, headers and footers.

You can edit your image linkages in your posts to resize the pictures.

For a landscape orientation picture add the bold and underlined code to the beginning of your picture link:

For a portrait orientation picture add the bold and underlined code to the beginning of your picture link:

Please try this site using Firefox. Right click image and select "View Image." The image will then be shown full page.

This works with other browsers as well to see the full image, and is a good way to see a full image that has been chopped off by the posting process.

It does not address the issue of images not being scaled automatically when a new post is created.
