HOW TO DO AN ADVANCED SEARCH.

Mon Jul 08, 2013 3:56 pm by Admin

For the benefit of 944Hybrids users there are two search functions available for you to use.
The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.

When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).

After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

Hello I'm new to forum but have been creeping for awhile lol. I have a 85 Porsche 944 that I picked up for 400$canadian btw! After 40hrs or so of cleaning / wetsand polishing painted bumpers etc it looks awesome I paint for a living and have full access to a mechanic shop.. we recently required a 02 Silverado 5.3l vor customer abandoned due to trans issued I picked up for 100$ it's a pos but runs.. so I'm considering using this motor for the swap given the opportunity I have. If someone can clarify I'm going to need to change front pulling accessories to make this work have someone tune the pcm to mate the Porsche . Splice the gm harness . Buy the basic conversion kit and change the intake ? I'm not looking to build a hot rod just want more reliability then the current motor. Thanks I'm a noob been searching .

I have a similar build- yes you will have to change the intake and the accessories. check out the "Nook and Tranny" website for help with changing the accessories to an F-body set up. Also tons of info on this site about how to best make a truck motor fit/work. Good luck with your project-

You'll have to build a standalone harness and get an ECU with VATS flashed off of it. I'd do drive by cable. I'm sure guys here have use the porsche starter relay and fuel relay but I wired around it for reliability. It's probably cleaner to do it the other way.

I'm still using the truck pully but i have an adapter kit from ICT billet to put the accessories in a different place. I wouldn't recomend this and would just go with the Fbody stuff as it gets the alternator and ps pump out of the way for your intake and radiator lines. I had to come up with some other solutions and I'm going to be force to run hood pins because of it due to lack of clearance.
