For the benefit of 944Hybrids users there are two search functions available for you to use.
The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.
When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).
After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

1/2 Mile Racing
Went to my first 1/2 mile WannaGoFast event over the weekend.
Anyone ever run their 944's in 1/2 mile?
If so what is your setup and times. Any advice on what you would do different with the car? I am currently in the build/design stage and would love to run some of these events when I get finished.
Thanks,
Justin

Not a lot of good intell on the WannaGoFast series. I’m not sure if it’s a heads up ET race or a rolling start MPH fest. What is the goal/how do you win?

Re: 1/2 Mile Racing
Sorry should have given a little bit more detail.
WannaGoFast (Link below) is a company that basically travels the country and puts on 1/2 miles racing events. I am located in Cincinnati Ohio and just went to the one in French Lick, Indiana. The event last weekend was 1/2 mile from a dig, nothing from a roll but I have seen those events. It is not a timed event, it is basically the person with the fastest trap speed. There is C6 Vettes running 150mpn and then there is TT Lambos running 218mph so a wide range of vehicles.

Just curious if anyone has ever run their 944 in one of these events and if so what were your trap speeds?
They basically put you into classes (Listed Below):
Overall Exotic/Import
Overall Domestic
AWD
Naturally Aspirated
RWD
FWD
Manual Transmission
4 Door
Heavyweight – Vehicle curb weight must be greater than 4k lbs (Curb Weight based off OEM Manufacturer’s Ratings)
