HOW TO DO AN ADVANCED SEARCH.

For the benefit of 944Hybrids users there are two search functions available for you to use.
The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.

When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).

After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

Hello
I have a problem with the clutch.Shocked
I installed the clutch Cluth Spec Stage 2 of the bearing D 951004.
The problem is that the guide tube for the hydraulic bearing is to long and abuts the clutch plate splines.
The second problem is that the hydraulic bearing push up depressed about 0.16 '' the spring diaphragm.
Where is the mistake?

Maybe someone had a problem and know what to do?

Bummer. My SPEC setup went in without trouble but several others have struggled. Did you buy it from TPC? You should call them for help. Good luck.

I bought the kit Spec Clutch directly. Others were descriptions on Spec Cluch side and the other on the invoice. I am looking now lower by .400 '' thrust bearing.

I had this problem as well when I used a Jegg's Flywheel. from what I understand Rob uses a specific flywheel with that adapter to C5 two piece. If your flywheel is offset further towards the adapter plate (like the cheap jegg's flywheel) the TO bearing will preload against the fingers of the pressure plate and the sleeve of the TO bearing will hit the clutch disc sleeve. So you may be able to go the easy route and offset the adapter plate back a little with some williams washers or get another flywheel. I hope I didnt bark up the wrong tree here.

Exactly the problem. Maybe buying should indicate the type of bellhousing.
I found a solution and I bought a TOB from Silver Sports Transmission. I have yet to see if the starter engages well.I wonder what should be the way to get a well-disconnect coupling Spec 2?. TOB Silver Sport Transmission is the 0.91'' traveling. Is that enough ?

I Cant speak to that type of TO bearing.  I used the T56 bearing and cut the areas from the base of the bearing mount plate so it would sit in the adapter plate I bought from Rob.  The C5 Bell works perfect, it is the flywheel that is important with that adapter plate.  There is a lengthy thread on here for that setup.  I felt a little stupid for trying to by parts and make them work just to tear everything apart and start over with the right ones.  I started with a dodge clutch/Jegs flywheel setup and had to yank it all back out.  I dont know what the travel needs to be to disengage the clutch.  I do know that he measured all those parts with torque tube and clutch to make it work properly.  So my suggestion to save some headache would be to find a T56 TO bearing, the correct flywheel, and double check you pilot bearing/torque tube depth.  You may have to even re drill the re-drill the groove on the rear of the torque tube to get the coupling to bolt back on.  To me, this was the most tedious part.  I still hope I am not barking up the wrong tree.  So I have a bunch of crap sitting in a box that is brand new that I pulled out and wont use Embarassed

Pavka, it sounds like you did not notch the T56 bearing in 3 places to insert into the adapter. It has to be done this way to mimick the exact mounting found on a C5 corvette.
The Spec clutch needs to have same dimensions as LT1 factory FW/Press Plate.

Thank you for your suggestions. I cut TO bearing in three places and is the entire plane. TO tube leading from the bearing still abuts the clutch plate splines. I think that the fault lies in the flywheel. As I wrote, I found lower TO bearing in SST. I'll make an adapter for plate from Rob and I think it will be ok.
