HOW TO DO AN ADVANCED SEARCH.

Mon Jul 08, 2013 3:56 pm by Admin

For the benefit of 944Hybrids users there are two search functions available for you to use.
The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.

When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).

After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

Major Milestone Empty Major Milestone

I have the engine in loosely. Its bolted hard to bell housing and torque tube. The bolts to the chassis and cross member are installed loosely. There are several things I can do before the exhaust manifolds arrive like figuring out where to mount the coils on the drivers side and routing the wiring but I'm pretty relieved. I know this old news for those who are experienced. I must have had it in 15 times adjusting hoist points that interfered. Loosening the clutch to get it to stab into the pilot bearing......... and then thought the cross member was off by about 1/2in but use of straps to tug and pull got everything in alignment. I'll need to lower it and feed the steering shaft through the manifold tubes so I'm not going to bolt up tight but getting it in feels great![You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

my engine is all bolted down and i can remove the steering shaft without droping the frame at all there is a sweet spot on it and for align the TT shaft in the pilot bearing i left the engine on the hoist with the bellhousing attached to the engine and bolted the TT to the Bellhousing that is my way.

Haha i feel your pain. I must have had the engine up and down a dozen times too.... live and learn Smile

Good luck with the steering shaft. I have the kooks long tubes and I gave up and did it the opposite way. I detached it from the end of the steering column, attached it to the rack, lifted the engine/crossmember combo up, and then reattached the steering shaft to the end of the steering column.

Your bay is as clean as whistle; good work!

Thanks, The engine bay is pretty clean but the pic makes it look even better than it is.
Today was spent with the throttle cable. Everything under the dash is a PIA but I think I have it now.
The clutch is now a puzzle. I need a 12x1.0 inverted flare to an AN -3 at the clutch MC and haven't found one. I have a 12x1.0 convex flare and can find a 12x 1.25 inverted flare........anyone have a source or a different approach?
Thanks!
