HOW TO DO AN ADVANCED SEARCH.

For the benefit of 944Hybrids users there are two search functions available for you to use.
The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.

When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).

After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

Hello There Everyone.

I am moving right a long, finally, on my project and I ran into some trouble tonight. I am working with SBC, 2piece belhousing/adapter combo and the motor mounts from texas performance concepts. I have those shorty Sanderson headers. I put the manual rack back in the car and the header is right in the way of where the steering shaft connects to the rack.

Is there a different rack I need with shorter splined shaft coming out of it to change the angle? Are the Sanderson shorty headers not the hot ticket? What are you all doing on yours?

Thanks,
Ed

What header do you have on the DS, it should be a CC90 IIRC?

I am not sure. Is that  sanderson part number? Or is that a diff brand? I will look in the morning for a part number.

Thanks for responding,
Ed

Ya, you need two different sanderson headers for this to work. I do not know the part numbers you will have to search on here

CC90 for the DS and CC2 for the PS.
The face of the CC90 collector flange should almost be on a horizontal plane when installed on the engine. The CC2 is a block hugger, if you install that on the DS it most certainly would interfere with the steering shaft.
Sanderson's website has several images of the CC90.

Ok makes sense now. I have the block huggers. I will have to sell mine and get the correct ones. They are new and coated. Hopefully not too much trouble to sell.

If you have the CC2 set you will need to keep one for the PS. Call Sanderson and order 1 CC90 for the DS.

Excellent tip...thanks. Do you know where I can get those bolts that hold the back part of the front a-arms? They look to be metric and have a taper on the end.

sanderson states the only kit needed is the CC90 kit.
the CC2 is a block hugger and the CC4 has it's collector straight up and down take one header from each kit and you get the CC90 kit .

i just ordered a cc90 set for a customers car .
on all the other 948's we have built we build our own headers we will see how good the sanderson's will fit . i was told because of the straight plugs for the heads on this motor we will have to heat and dimple the headers were the plugs are . because of this and we are hot coating the hole exhaust system i bought the headers in bare steel .
