For the benefit of 944Hybrids users there are two search functions available for you to use.
The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.
When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).
After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

Re: autopower roll bar
I used to have one in my previous 951. They fit ok, the issue I have with them is they mount to the weakest parts of the car. Single sided steel in the wheel wells and the floor. The backing plates help but really aren't adequate if you roll.
Look up the mustang that rolled at Hallett, the bar punched right through the floor.
I'd spend the money on a proper welded rollbar instead...

Roll Bar
Do what Doc said, welded is better. Hanksville Hot Rods make them for the 944 to fit with or with out interior. They make a very high quality product in my opinion. I have one for my project.

Re: autopower roll bar
I live ten minutes from Hanksville Hotrods and he made the rollbar in my car. Fits perfectly and is welded to structural parts of the car, the door sills up front and the rear subframe in the back.
He has rollbar/cage kits available, all you do is weld them into the car when you get them.

Re: autopower roll bar
ok ill keep that in mind. roll bar wasnt really in the immediate future plan anyways, however the pricing was looking real good and i could save a bunch on shipping.
ive got everything needed in the shop to build a cage, however for the price we were quoted, it almost didnt make sense to build one from scratch.

Mark has jigs for the 944. Outstanding craftsmanship for a great price.
