HOW TO DO AN ADVANCED SEARCH.

Mon Jul 08, 2013 3:56 pm by Admin

For the benefit of 944Hybrids users there are two search functions available for you to use.
The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.

When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).

After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

Ok i am at the point of shocks etc. What are being used? i would like as much feed back as i can get. I have TB deleted, i will do a little auto x and a lot of highway cruising. The Ground control units look good for the money. Any thoughts?

I have 600 rear TB delete 450 in front with 944s 24.5mm sway bar and at 70 very nice ride. 90 -100 plus in the front I feel my car seams to get a loose feeling.  A friend has 600 rear TB delete 900 front 30mm sway bar and at slower city speeds his is stiff but very nice at 70.  90-100 plus his feels more stable to my liking. I bought ground control and for the set just under $1800. I will pay $130ish to change my front to maybe as high as 900. make sure to get the thin nylon type bushings so you don't have spring pop there $10ea. My springs were 2.5 by 6 tall. very easy to adjust with one allen wrench

I've got Escort Cup's, had them rebuilt and revalved by Bilstein. No torsion bars, 700rear 450 front with M030 968 swaybars.

Definitely firm ride, handles at the track very nicely. The important thing is making sure that the shock damping matches your spring rate...

Thank you both for your responses. What do you think would be the best for what i will use it for. It will see more street use that racing. I would like to put 2 golf bags and two luggage for highway trips etc. But still want the handling that the car had in its origanal form.

I wouldn't go over the spring rates I have, in fact I'd probably go for lighter rates. I would get whatever shocks you buy rebuilt to match the spring rates though, that makes a huge difference in ride comfort and handling.
