For the benefit of 944Hybrids users there are two search functions available for you to use.
The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.
When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).
After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

RHD Conversion Issues...
Hi all,
has anyone used the TPC conversion parts on a RHD (UK/Oz/NZ/etc) car and had any issues with fitment, i.e does the steering rod linkage clear the headers etc... ?
Cheers,
KW

Re: RHD Conversion Issues...
Hi mate, aussie here.
Ls1 into an 88 951. The cast iron exhaust manifolds will def foul on the steering shaft.
I have a set of VY Commodore manifolds, and the steering shaft nearly perfectly bisects the outlet on the drivers side (RHD).
Im looking for a set of tight block huggers that will work for the time being.

Re: RHD Conversion Issues...
Is that the only issue so far? was just looking at the TPC delux kit (again)
I have been really busy with work since I first planned this but hoping to have more time to get started this year. I amassed a few more new general parts in the mean time for the car saratoga roof / kw suspension etc. (Car already has Big blacks and other mods).
If it is just the manifolds - which should be possible to get adapted or built to suit locally I will get the kit ordered! I am planning LS3 crate motor, rebuilt box and torque tube and want to keep it reliable and long lasting. previously had c 350hp as modified turbo and it became fragile. Unstressed 400bhp (+) will be perfect

Re: RHD Conversion Issues...
To be honest, my 86 Turbo has changed into a restoration project, esp given the upwards price trend over the last few years...
That still leaves me an 88 shell I can't register on the road in NZ as a factory car due to a dumb law, however, if I remove >60 % of the chassis rails and replace with a tube frame then I can register it as scratch built. So, I've acquired the front and rear subframe units from an early cayenne, a toyota v12, a tremec 6 speed out of a commodore and will cut the front off, bottom and rear out and replace with a complete space frame mounting the subframes.. sort of mad maxish
