HOW TO DO AN ADVANCED SEARCH.

Mon Jul 08, 2013 3:56 pm by Admin

For the benefit of 944Hybrids users there are two search functions available for you to use.
The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.

When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).

After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

LT throttle cable

Post  Remy6908 on Wed Oct 15, 2014 8:02 pm

I have looked all over the forum and can't find anything specific but I need to know how to connect the factory lt cable to the 944 pedal assembly. Any and all info would be great.

Using the lokar cable.
If you have the 36" the simple end shaped like a "c" with the pin - that will fit into the pedal mount with the rubber piece (the rubber piece stays in). I cut off the opposite end and ran the cable threw the fire wall don't forget to put a nut and washer on the cable before you fish it threw the fire wall. Cut the outer sleeve to fit ( from fire wall the throttle body mount).  The cable is adjustable.  I purchased  a brass barrel ran the cable threw it and the ran two Allen headed blind screws into the barrel. I bought the assorted barrel pack and used a bigger barrel so had to drill the throttle lever for it to fit.

I am using GM #12550676 a barrel connector that is swaged, like a butt connection.

You could go about this in several ways.
- Swage a butt connection
- Silver solder a butt connection
- Overlap cables and pass them through a barrel connector with a screw to hold them.

Things to remember.
- Leave a suitable amount of cable when cutting the end of the 944 cable, that attaches to the pedal....shown as rubber "ring" on this image taken from a Rennlist post by 951Porschiste

- Be careful to make sure the connector doesn't bind on anything during pedal movement
- Be sure to check that you have 100% throttle
- Be sure that the pedal touches the floor stop, so that you aren't putting excess tension on the cable when at full throttle.
