HOW TO DO AN ADVANCED SEARCH.

For the benefit of 944Hybrids users there are two search functions available for you to use.
The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.

When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).

After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

hi i think Im in the right place to post? If not please let me know. I just had a valve spring break.....Didn't hurt piston but bent the valve,so had to remove the head. I used Mr. Gasket MLS Head Gaskets 3133g. can i reuse it????? the gasket i mean? thanks any input welcome..

sorry the car is a 89 944 with a sbc 5.7 twin turbo ..stock lower end, 5 to 8 psi

Yes, totally reusable. They are all metal so don't fall apart like conventional gaskets. Don't clean them with harsh chemicals (soapy water is fine) due to the "proprietary coating" and use some copper coating after they're clean.

Make sure those head bolts aren't stretched though.

Hi, thanks for the input...copper coating? How do I tell if the head bolts are stretched? The head bolts are new and have only been torqued once. Thank you.

Copper gasket sealer is an aerosol spray sealant sold at your local auto parts house. Highly recommended for high HP applications and for MLS gaskets.

I don't think you have an LS series engine so never mind the bolt thing. Have fun! Very Happy
