HOW TO DO AN ADVANCED SEARCH.
Mon Jul 08, 2013 3:56 pm by Admin
For the benefit of 944Hybrids users there are two search functions available for you to use.
The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.
When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).
After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

earlier reply to Dawgz........"""""I'm doing a custom billet housing, but you can weld one up yourself after I post dimensions...."""""
I went to Metal Supermarkets and got enough 1/4" billet plate for the firewall to make a first run of 4 of the housings. This will make the setup very easy to install and very strong with no plate flex. I feel if you don't go with 3/16 thick steel, then the adapter plate for the balance bar could flex. With the 1/4" billet and only a 1.25" hole drilled for the pushrod, there will be plenty of planar strength to stop flex and there is plenty of room to install it in the firewall without having to remove the driver's side valve cover....Not to mention alot better looking than a chopped up steel plate.

Re: BOOSTER DELETE
I had thought the 944 stock ratio was 5:1...until I got the dims from an actual pedal.948 wrote:My estimate is in the excel sheet I sent...
Here's the results...
The stock MC pushrod location = 4.25:1 ratio.
The .75" higher modified location (used in the booster delete / single manual MC setup) = 6:1 ratio.

billet firewall plates
Got a few of them done. Had to trace and scroll to get them done quickly without having to do a bunch of programming to get a few done and without having to make any holding jigs for the 0.25" Plate. Anyhow They fit like a glove (not O.J.'s)
A soon as I get my driver's side header back I will post up dimensions....
I am thinking about 3ea of 3/8" hex bolts and large star washers epoxied or Liquid-Nailed to the inner firewall area, after dried, then the plate can be easily installed/removed from outside the car by 3 stainless nylock nuts.....keepin' it real, cuz I don't like trying to get up under the footrest area on this car...Piss on that repetitive hassle.....

Yea...
Those are used in the commercial sign business, in .090" & .125" aluminum, in up to 14' high / 500 lb. letters (i.e. BB&T, Raleigh, NC; Lowe's Home Improvement Center; Wal+Mart; etc.).
No problems if installed properly...
(The Raleigh BB&T letters also featured 2000+ LEDs...)

Re: BOOSTER DELETE
May be hopping on the dual MC bandwagon here, turns out my sight measurement system was screwed. the 964 MC though much smaller is the same length as the bmw/944 setup due to the booster, which is also wider... #*($&(#. with the early LS valve cover width is everything. Long story short I could make it work but It would be too much of an uphill battle.

Re: BOOSTER DELETE
its a precision instrument, good on hard to find parts and according to RH it was one of the primary assembly tools for all hand built 944 models (incidentally they have all since been in front end collisions as well)

Found this pic. A one-off? Looks like it clears the valve cover without cutting it???

Re: BOOSTER DELETE
Hello all, what ever became of this thread? whats the consensus now? my car has 993tt calipers on all 4 corners and i have an extra lockhead martin billet dual master cylinder setup leftover from my 993 tubechassis car. its fairly compact and i was thinking of trying to see if it will fit and clear the valve cover.
