HOW TO DO AN ADVANCED SEARCH.

Mon Jul 08, 2013 3:56 pm by Admin

For the benefit of 944Hybrids users there are two search functions available for you to use.
The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.

When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).

After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

This is the kit that was installed. We deleted the P/S pump and A/C and measured for the correct length serpentine belt. We will be replacing the self adjuster with a manual one.

Yeah, good. I had the belt jump off the spring tensioned self-adjuster this spring. Everything seems good now with the clamp tensioner instead.

That air cleaner looks great as long as you keep air pressure in front of the rad.

Thanks Rich, We still have a lot of work to do as in fabricating a wall to separate the air filter and radiator. It's just nice to see a light at the end of a tunnel.

It's been on the road for some time now and finally had it on the dyno for a tune. We were able to put down 468hp to the wheels. Car has been trouble free since the build. Looking forward to a track day this year to test it out properly. Hopefully we can get Techno Duck there on the same day.

Nice work Thom!

I'm going to run a similar floor mounted Tilton setup.

Mind divulging the cylinder sizes you are using for the brakes and clutch?

Thanks mate,

Lee.

Thom....468 HP to the wheels is outstanding!! I think you're going to have a lot of GREAT track days.

Reopening your thread called my attention to your engine bay and like XtaC I'm very interested in your brake and clutch set-up. I used Holley valve covers with LS2 coil packs in My LS1 build and I would like to keep my PS and keep my coil packs on the covers.

I also love your air intake approach as well!

Nice job!!

Ray and Lee, I ended up using Tilton 75 series pedals with .625 " front master, .700" rear master and .875 for the clutch. We are also using a Quicktime bellhousing so the shim calculation was a little more complex due to the mounting surface of the slave in the bellhousing. We also use a remote brake bias set up. This helped balance it out a great deal more. The front calipers were changed over to Big Reds and the rears are stock turbo blacks. If you search for "floor mounted Brake Pedal" you will find additional information and photos from other users also. Good luck with you cars. Thom

Also Ray, to do the intake without it hitting the hood, I lowered the radiator mount enough to clear the aluminum tube. Basically cut and rewelded the lower mounting rail and extended the upper retaining bolts with bushings.
