HOW TO DO AN ADVANCED SEARCH.

For the benefit of 944Hybrids users there are two search functions available for you to use.
The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.
When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).
After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

944 MC not fitting on BMW HB??
Hi all, Car is running and sounding AWESOME!! NEED TO DRIVE SOON.......! All thats left is the installation of the BMW Hydroboost and 944 Master cylinder. I've made a mount that looks good so far, the HB is mounted to the firewall. The problem is when I go to bolt the Porsche master cylinder to the BMW booster. A black plastic sleeve in the BMW HB bore prevents the 944 MC from bolting together. Any idea what this black plastic sleeve does and do I need it? Anyone that has done this, can you advise??
Cheers,
Thanks
Gord.

Looks like the bolt holes are alligned, even though you are mixing Porsche and BMW parts. Is that true?

yes, the bolt holes align and the "pushrod" length is correct. The only problem is the id of the black plastic sleeve is 0.020' smaller than the od of the master cylinder. Since no one had advice, I've machined 0.020 of the od of the MC and now its together. The big advantage of the BMW system is that you can use the 944 master cylinder (brake bias remains the same), but I've never heard that it's not a direct fit. Oh well, its together now. Driving soon!

Glad to hear you worked it out. But others must have encountered the same problem.
Pretty cool that the parts more or less fit together. They probably came from the same sub supplier in Germany.
