For the benefit of 944Hybrids users there are two search functions available for you to use.
The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.

When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).

After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

I am in the process of getting into the fuel lines for the project. I want to get the fuel lines routed and connected to the fuel pump, so when the engine is in all i have to do is plug it in and I am good to go. I just bought the adapters for the quick snap for the fuel rails. I think it was 3/8-6an and 5/16-6an. How long 6an hose should i get for the return and feed hoses. What fuel pump ETC. I have my brakes setup done , so i am now thinking about the fuel setup. Pics would help if possible.

I believe youre just trying to adapt the AN hoses to the stock fuel lines?

You will need 2 adapter fittings to adapt your 6AN hoses to the stock 10mm and 8mm fuel lines at the wheel well. Lindseyracing sells both in a kit for $28.

With these two adapter fittings, you should be able to easily finish the job without installing an entire fuel system.

Nice pics 944-LT1. Is that the drivers side fender well?

Are you going to be running new fuel lines? If not you might want to inspect your current lines and consider putting in some new ones as you would otherwise be trusting 25+ year old lines that have a tendency to leak/break/cause fires.

I have owned a few of these 477 cars (924>968) and have only found corroded fuel lines on cars that came from the North East. Not saying that cars from other areas can't have corroded fuel lines but if the fuel lines look like the ones above you should have nothing to worry about. Lets face it, gas normally doesn't carry water very well, so the chance of rust in fuel line is a lot less than it will be in your brake lines.

Just something to think about while you have everything out. My car is from Colorado and consequently will be getting new lines once I start the swap.

In that case, you may think about installing 6AN stainless steel tubing from the pump forward!

Yep, some places are harder on these cars than others. I never saw a 944 with a rusted battery box until I bought my present car from a guy in New Hampshire. Had to replace 3 brake lines, both rear calipers and rotters, so while I was at it I installed stainless steel brake lines. And it makes sense to go though the hole car and rebuild it better than new if your going to spend this much money on it. anyway. Cool

The lines look in ok shape. I am going to order the lindsey racing fitting for now just to get it installed then change the lines if needed. The brake lines look well worse than the fuel lines. Does the factory fuel pump have enough pressure to power the Lt1 or should i look into getting a new one. The stock one looks fairlly new. If the orig fuel pump will be ok for now just to get it running that would be sweet. My goal is to get it installed and running then worry about new struts/rotors/pads/fuel lines/brake lines. Here is a pic from where i am as of now.

Yes, very much so. I ran the stock pump for 5 years with my LT and it'll be pumping fuel again for my LS. Ill run it until it dies or I find out its dropping pressure.

excellant. Thanks man. I will have to find the wires to the pump and splice into them. Off topic is there a way to run the factory lt1 porwer stearing pump to the 944 rack. so i can use the lt1 pump. I was thinking of getting a manual rack but there around 300$ and i dont want to spend 300$ for a manual rack right now.

For the power steering pump question, just make some lines and hook it up. It'll work fine.

Fuel lines for the LT1.  Empty lt1 quick disconnect AN fittings hood clearence

Hi all; I'm installing SS lines on an lt1 in a 87 944. the fender side is good. the connection to the fuel rail with quick disconnect and right angle AN6 fitting sits way to high hood clearance looks ominous.
it looks like some people bend the tubes at a right angle facing to the firewall. does annyone know of any options to get the tubes pointing right angle back, straight or are there different fuel rail setups to avoid the clearance. I guess I could double clamp the lines with fuel line clamps right over the SS covering. prefer not to. suggestions?

I welded AN fittings into the end of each rail and am running the return through an Aeroquip pressure regulator mounted on the FW near the fuel lines.
