HOW TO DO AN ADVANCED SEARCH.

For the benefit of 944Hybrids users there are two search functions available for you to use.
The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.
When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).
After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

You might want to add a power steering cooler plus lines as well as the Turn One PS pump to that list...

Remember I don't have power steering...I actually enjoy the feel of the manual rack.

Re: Hydroboost Parts List
The power steering pump runs the hydroboost. You don't want that fluid to boil. The cooler and Turn One pump will ensure that doesn't happen. Remember our conditions are very different than everyone else's on the board, we're the only people dealing with altitude...

Re: Hydroboost Parts List
Good point...I'll call and talk to them tomorrow. The car is currently at a shop b/c of the electric brakes but I might try to complete the hydroboost setup at home and save on the labor side.

Is this the correct hydro unit?

Re: Hydroboost Parts List
That's the one I have, but it throws off the rear brake bias. You need to install an adjustable brake proportioning valve with it. I have a spare tilton one if you need it. The BMW system reuses the stock 951 master cylinder so the brake bias isn't thrown off

Re: Hydroboost Parts List
Make sure that you get the line/hoses that go with that hydro boost. There is not an aftermarket fitting replacement for one of the pressure lines.
Port threaads
Does anyone know the size and pitch of those ports in the hydro-booster? They look similar to the ports in the BMW unit, which I got adapters to convert the high pressure lines to -6AN.

Re: Hydroboost Parts List
Those are not the same as the Mustang hydro boost that I have seen. They will not work on the ones that I have been using.
Bmw hydroboost?
Hello all,
Does anyone know of a good source for the BMW hydroboost system or what is the correct terminology I should use during my search?
Regards,
Frank

7 series from 84-88, the system is referred to as H31. Frequently they show up on ebay, and frequently the are overpriced.

Re: Hydroboost Parts List
Sorry for bringing up an old thread, but I don't get how the hydroboost lines connect to the turn one ps pump, or the rack. Is there an over sized banjo bolt or two that I'm not getting? I've decided to scrap the electric power brakes... Just can't take it anymore.

Re: Hydroboost Parts List
No I get that. I don't get how the lines are routed, and then how they are attached when there are already lines to and from the rack and the pump. Does anyone have detailed pictures of the pump and the rack with the lines already attached? That would help allot.

Re: Hydroboost Parts List
Ah, I get it. So basically I am just rerouting my current lines and teeing off of them. And then I also have to change a few of the ends. Correct?

Make sure you guys are having high pressure lines made for ATM fluid resistance. The ebay compression fittings are good for fuel pressures (60 psi) but not PS pump pressures (800-1200 psi), especially when turning lock-to-lock....

Re: Hydroboost Parts List
I had my hoses made at Pirtek because I knew they did good work, but Discount Hydraulic has started doing custom hose assemblies and it looks like it's about 1/3 what Pirtek charged me. Just another possible option.

Re: Hydroboost Parts List
yes we have a place up here that makes custom hoses. They have done a few things for me on the Porsche... They actually did the power steering hoses that are on the car now, so I will probably just have them knock these out also.

Re: Hydroboost Parts List
Question: I'm not running power steering, can I get away with a Chevy power steering pump and no cooling lines with the mustang hydroboost?
Does this setup look correct?
