HOW TO DO AN ADVANCED SEARCH.

For the benefit of 944Hybrids users there are two search functions available for you to use.
The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.
When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).
After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

Have to be D2 S8 2001-2003. D3 Calipers are floating style, totally different.

Correct me if this is not correct:
Caliper Part # 141.33063 & 141.33064
Caliper Part # 141.33063 & 141.33064

Those part numbers correspond to some retailers like autoplicity and partsgeek but as stated they will figure out they do not actually have/stock the calipers and cancel orders. The OEM P/Ns are:
Left 4D0615107D
Right 4D0615108D
Left 4D0615107D
Right 4D0615108D

You rock! I am making a Build sheet for my build - this helps significantly!

If those part #'s are correct it looks like it's the same caliper that came as an option on the A8 which might make it easier to find. It's the caliper that came with a 345mm rotor.

44x40mm pistons, correct?

The last set I found were off a 2003 S8 locally. Autozone said they could order them, but needed "cores"....

Re: XSchop "Bigger Blacks" on Cayenne 330mm rotor adapters
I think i've figured it out. For the A8 and the S8 they had a 323mm rotor and a 345mm rotor. The 323mm caliper is a floating type and looks like this. You'll notice it's a Lucas caliper.
The caliper Rob uses (correct me if I'm wrong Rob) is from the 345mm rotor vehicle. It's a brembo caliper and looks like this:
Be careful when you shop. I've went to two places that thought they had the 345mm caliper but had the Lucas 323mm caliper.

That's it. It's unmistakeable by its extended radial mount bases.
Brembo just took a Ferrari caliper mold and added length to the mount bases.

I've got one last set still. PM if interested.
I'll be making a batch of LS460 adapters soon, so I won't have these any time soon.

What brake pads are you guys running with these? And where is the best place to source them?
I would like to get a higher performance street pad, as well as a race pad like Pagids to swap in at the track.
Is there a good alternative to Pagid for racing pads? I'm all for spending the money on good pads, but if there is something equivalent for cheaper it will equate to more money for other track expenses.
I'm super pumped to get these brakes on the car! I finally got a deal on some calipers and they showed up at my door last weekend. They are HUGE!

on ebay right now
For those looking, a pair of reman front calipers shipped for $445. Not a terrible price.

I bought my calipers from ebay and they were shipped from Poland(obviously more reliable than Russia, but...). I got them in a little over a week. The pictures that FrostedFlakeJake posted of the calipers above were the ones I bought literally a few minutes before he posted them.
I'm not saying it's a wise idea to buy overseas in sketchy area but I have bought tons of stuff and had it shipped around the world and never had an issue. The biggest issue I've had is actually with US customs who held some wheels I bought from Guam for over 3 months before letting them through!

That mirrors my experience. Small items get through relatively quickly. Anything that's big enough to possibly hide something significant always seems to take forever to get through customs.

Re: XSchop "Bigger Blacks" on Cayenne 330mm rotor adapters
Quick question Rob or anyone else that knows.
In an e-mail to you (Rob) I was worried about keeping my early offset wheels. As per your advice I purchased a set of late (87+) NA hubs and spindles. But doesn't the way the cayenne rotor mounts to the hub push my wheel out (more negative offset)?
On the early car the rotor doesn't interfere with the wheel mounting surface at all. But the cayenne rotor looks like it will push the wheel out whatever thickness the rotor is around the wheel studs.

Thanks.
So i guess the hope is that the rotor thickness at the hub/studs is small enough to have a minimal effect on the wheel fitment...

Re: XSchop "Bigger Blacks" on Cayenne 330mm rotor adapters
I would think that the factory offset number is measured at the location where the wheel mounts, whether that's the hub or outside face of the rotor.
So switching to another type of rotor would only change the offset +/- the difference in rotor thickness where it mounts up to the hub which is likely very minimal (maybe a mm or two at most).
