HOW TO DO AN ADVANCED SEARCH.
Mon Jul 08, 2013 3:56 pm by Admin
For the benefit of 944Hybrids users there are two search functions available for you to use.
The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.
When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).
After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

New member Starting lq9 944s swap
Hello, all. I am new to this site but have been active on ls1tech for a while now. I'd like to introduce my project and I will probably post my progress as I can. I just picked up an '87 944s with intentions of swapping my lq9. The lq9 has a 228r cam, dual valve springs, arp head and rod bolts, double roller chain, high volume oil pump, new ls7 lifters, ls9 head gaskets, etc. The car is a 1987 944s painted Lamborghini pearl yellow. It has the German rear bumper and the turbo front. No rust. I will most likely be purchasing the TPC swap kit (not sure which one yet), and fabricating some parts as well. If there's anything that I should look out for that gave you guys problems during this swap, let me know. I'm have a pretty good idea of what this swap entails but am still in the process of researching (you can never research enough).
Anyway, here are some pics of the car and engine:

Good luck with your project. I haven't posted much but been lurking quietly while working on putting an LM7 in my 83. I'm almost ready to fire it up and its killing me sitting there and not being driven. I too got lots of good info from LS1Tech and my wiring info from LT1swap.com.

Looking Great!
Now, that's the way to do a V8 conversion. From the ground up!
What are you doing for brakes, transmission and clutch?
Thanks and keep posting updates!

RE: LQ9
Hey looking good. Question because your using a truck engine did you need a crank spacer and if so what did you do about the starter and bell housing spacer???

Its an "s" so all brakes and suspension and trans are staying stock for now. The truck engine does not require any crank spacers.

Only the "early" lq4 with iron heads require a spacer
