The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.
When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).
After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

5.3 Dyno results
Today was dyno day for my 5.3 conversion. after a proper tune the power jumped from 283hp to 329hp and torque from 288 to 317 on the ground, I'm very happy.

Nice!!!
those are very encouraging numbers! Especially for those of us who are only banking on 315hp on the 5.7L....
Maybe with a good tune, the right intake and the right healthy free flowing exhaust on my corvette ls1 i can get a little healthier than the 345hp?
here's hoping....

Hey great results.
What type of changes did you do to the engine, CAM, Headers, Intake, Throttle Body, ????
I bet it is very quick.

The motor is an 07 with dod deleted, ls3 cam and .020 off stock 243 heads. The top end is stock 2000 ls1 with ported t-body and stock injectors. I used Eric's long tube headers into 3" magnaflow.
I put a turbo box in last week with the na 5th.
I loved this car last month, now with better gears and 50 more hp it's a dream.

Re: 5.3 Dyno results
Look at the curve on the first run (labeled 2) you can see the original tune was not good.
Once a good base file was loaded additional hp came a few at a time.
50 hp on a tune is not common, but I'll take it!

Wow, that initial tune was garbage! The engine just fell on it's face at 3000RPM! I bet it's a different animal to drive with that power curve
