For the benefit of 944Hybrids users there are two search functions available for you to use.
The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.

When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).

After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

Lt1 Motor mounts

Post  whty8911 on Wed Dec 25, 2013 9:47 am

Hi everyone. New to the forum. Years ago I purchased a conversion kit for RH. I have not been very pleased with the overall fit and finish of the kit but that is another topic. My motor sits a bit too close to the passenger side. Ive got about a 1/8" gap on the passenger side with about a 3/4"+ gap on drivers side. Also the motor appears to sit a bit too low for my liking. Very close to cross member and steering rack. I have try to pry, lift, shift , loosen, tighten every way and it always settles in the same spot everytime. Was thinking about trying a new set of mounts from someone else. Any recommendations on another company that sells LT1 mounts? Thanks.

After I pulled the original 2.5L engine I measured the drive shaft tip from the passenger side member and the drivers side member and the found the same offset as you did...dunno why.

The more I thought about it the motor favors the passenger I believe. With the intake, turbo, exhaust, etc taking up mostly of the drivers side. With that being said Im thinking about just seeing how it goes and if it causes a problem.

Message Eric(admin) he can make you mounts if hes up for it. Never hurts to ask. I bought my mounts from him and they fit fine so far. I havent finalized my motor install yet as im doing a slightly different build then commonly used here. Tuned port 350 fully rebuilt with bigger cam and fuel adjustments.
