HOW TO DO AN ADVANCED SEARCH.

For the benefit of 944Hybrids users there are two search functions available for you to use.
The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.
When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).
After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

Radiator to crankshaft pulley clearance
Hi all
We're in the process of building and have just installed the RH radiator with its fan. There is only a tiny amount of clearance between the crankshaft pully and the radiator fan. How have you sorted this - a shorter pulley, radiator further forward? All comments approceiated. I have also mailed RH.
Car: 89 turbo, engine:350 LTi, conversion kit from RH.
Thanx

Re: Radiator to crankshaft pulley clearance
Hi Q,
I have a 1994 LT1 in my 1983 944 with the RH radiator/fan from a looong time ago. The clearance has been fine. Maybe your engine is more forward or the their radiator is thicker now? Or, like you said, maybe you can move the radiator more forward? Also, my '83 may be a little different up front than your '89 turbo. I'll measure the thickness of the radiator and take another picture for you next time I'm under there.
Here's a picture of the space between the crankshaft pulley and the fan motor (yes, the water pump is blown so there's fluid everywhere. In the process of fixing it now ):

Re: Radiator to crankshaft pulley clearance
Thanks RobotMachines, I'll compare the gap with my installation although I am expecting it to be the same.
