HOW TO DO AN ADVANCED SEARCH.

For the benefit of 944Hybrids users there are two search functions available for you to use.
The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.
When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).
After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

Skywalker001 Build - Got my new shoes
Well the snowdogs were able to get through to my street and brought the new rubber!! Comes with a warning not to run in temps below 32 degrees!
Fronts and rears respectively.

OK, I'm jealous, I want invisible wheels
Tires are going to look good on there, How low are you going with your car?

Huge! What happens below 32 degrees? ...they refuse to turn?

Re: Skywalker001 Build - Got my new shoes
Hey admin - thanks for the compliment. Rims should be here toward the end of the month - I am hoping the wheels have the desired effect with the bodykit. As for ride height, I don't really want to go much lower since the bends off the headers are hanging pretty low (4" pipe) - we'll see how it goes!!
As for the temps and what happens, the rubber compound gets hard and will crack, resulting in Flintstone tires and subsequent failure - something that I don't look forward to.

May have to gingerly (I hear stock axles don't fare too well with the big rubber) do it once or twice for the camera , but that's why the Kelly Chargers will stay mounted on the stock rims!

Rims are in - Tires Mounted
Made a high speed run to Deleware to pick up the rims. I have to say they look even more beautiful in person!! Here is a pic of one of the rears with the obligatory 'lip shot' (didn't have any Bejamins at the time - but you get the idea )
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
Tried to get them mounted at the local Goodyear shop but they didn't want to damage the rims - same for the local Mr. Tire. Ended up going to a DUBs specialty shop (House of Dubs) and the got the tires mounted and balanced - and they did it without a scratch!!

Front tire on for test fitting!

Thanks! I was really afraid that they wouldn't fit. Will mount the rears tomorrow and see how they look (fit).

Rear Test fit
Went out early and fired up the heater early this morning and test fitted the rear
shoes. I was amazed at how much wheel can fit in the rear wheel well. This is
a couple shots with the stock .75" spacer and 2" aftermarket spacer. Don't think
Maryland's finest would appreciate this.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
Removed the 2" spacer - sure it's not 'Hellaflush', but what the heck - I like it!
Thing to take away from these photos is that with an aftermarket widebody kit,
You can easily run 19"x13" rims without any spacers.

Re: Skywalker001 Build - Got my new shoes
With the spacers in, I think I'd agree with you. But now, I think I need more wheel - think 19s would have been better - and NO! I'm not going for this look

Re: Skywalker001 Build - Got my new shoes
I got the chance to see those in person yesterday, the pictures don't do them justice, and that's not a comment on Skywalker's shooting abilities, they are georgeous! From the rear it has one mean look, the fit is finish is perfect, they fill up the wheelwell. They are one fine set of 3 piece rim. Now I have widebody, tire and rim envy!

Primer going on....... again
After much messaging of the body I am finally putting paint on. I am amazed at how well things are progressing. I tell you, DuPont paint products: they make us weekend workers look like pros!!
