HOW TO DO AN ADVANCED SEARCH.

Mon Jul 08, 2013 3:56 pm by Admin

For the benefit of 944Hybrids users there are two search functions available for you to use.
The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.

When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).

After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

A few swap questions Empty A few swap questions

Post  admiralkhole Sun Mar 31, 2013 8:16 pm

I have been getting parts together for a while now and am about a week out from actually starting my swap. I just have a few questions for people that have done this before.

1) Fuel lines. How did you do them?

2) HVAC. How did you set it up?

3) Power steering pump. I have manual steering with the optional close ratio rack and I want to keep it that way. What should I do about the lt1 PS pump?

Any answers, tips, and pointers would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.

If you can get the Corvette fuel rails, they put the lines on the correct side of the motor.
Use the power steering pump to power the Hydro boost system.
Use the GM bracket and compressor, then have custom hoses made to connect to the Porsche stuff. Use the Porsche hot wire for the compressor

Cool, thank you. I will not need the power steering pump or hyrdoboost because I have manual brakes...I got a 924 cereal bowl and made an adapter plate for the master cylinder along with making a new rod with clevis. This is all already installed.

Can I gut the pump? Can I put fluid in it and loop the lines to each other? Should I make a bracket and put an idler pulley in its place? I'd like to keep the stock geometry of the pullies and belt, and an added idler pulley might deter from this. Thanks!

You can loop the pump ,but I would do a pulley and remove it.
