HOW TO DO AN ADVANCED SEARCH.
Mon Jul 08, 2013 3:56 pm by Admin
For the benefit of 944Hybrids users there are two search functions available for you to use.
The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.
When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).
After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

Re: 928 5-speed kit
It looks like I forgot to say "Thanks for the kit!" in here. My kit looks good and hopefully I can get back working on my 928 soon. Still need a few more bits before I can start swapping.
However, I've also been talked into helping a friend put a 383 LT1 into a 928 5-speed he just picked up. The OE Porsche engine is DOA, and I'd like to work with your kit for this swap because he may change his mind (again) at some point and decide to change over to an LS mid-swap. I know you mentioned needing a spacer (.4" ?) with the LT1, but was that with a C5 two piece bell housing or with a C4 6-speed bell housing? We have a ZF 6-speed on hand with the OE bell housing. I just have not had time (and enough warm weather) to get the LT1 off the engine stand and and start test-fitting things.
Thanks!

You would need to add 0.40" plate between C5 bell housing adapter plate and retention tube to fit an Lt1.

Re: 928 5-speed kit
I've got 2 adapter plates and extention tubes ready to go. Engine mounts not included but I will email tech drawing as they are easy to make.

Re: 928 5-speed kit
Mind dropping me an email or PM with the drawings? I still need to put a set of engine mounts together for the race car. I figure working from the drawings should be more precise than trying to copy an existing set of mounts.

Shoot me an email at [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
I'll send you the pic as I don't have scanner at shop ok.
And again, you can mount the 928 automatic with these adapters. You need to get the 928 AUTO front coupler and mate it to Chevy flex plate.
The 928 Auto is a super strong Mercedes trans FYI.
