When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).

After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

Fix to only hot air through the vents

Post  docwyte on Tue Mar 12, 2013 1:09 pm

So my car has been doing this for quite some time. Turns out it's very common on the 944's to have this happen, there's a small plastic clip that holds the heater flap control rod that breaks.

It's up underneath the dash, above your right knee. Later 944's have a plastic cover, held in place by 2 screws that you have to remove. Later cars also have 2 rods. This is what mine looked like, you can see one is still in place and fine, the other one is hanging loose, hence only hot air. The plastic bushing and clip cost about $1.30...

And here it is fixed. I still need to get one more clip, I have the rod ziptied in place for now.

Very common. After the clip goes bad the system defaults to heat so if its winter you dont loose visibility.

Also the vacuum diaphragm for the control valve can fail to full hot, which is what happened on my 951.

I have this problem as well. What's the part number on that clip/where did you get it?
