HOW TO DO AN ADVANCED SEARCH.

Mon Jul 08, 2013 3:56 pm by Admin

For the benefit of 944Hybrids users there are two search functions available for you to use.

When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).

After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

Few Questions Empty Few Questions

Post  celery Thu Feb 14, 2013 8:23 pm

Say I buy the LS1 kit, what all else am I going to need other than headers and/or how much money am I gonna have to spend afterwards? This is assuming I have the engine, and 944.

Also I found a 944 NA w/o engine for $550 what all would I need to make it suitable for a swap other than turbo tranny and brakes?
Also another thing that wasn't really mentioned in the How to would a 944s be up to a swap without any conversion?

Sorry if this has been asked before, but thanks for any help.

If you haven't already, spend some time reading through the threads on this site.

I've been here for at least a couple years and haven't even started my conversion. In all that time, I've learned the answer to a lot of your questions and I am certain there is a significant amount I still don't know. On top of that, there will be always be issues specific to your conversion that will come up.

A few things I can think of in addition to the kit (just off the top of my head):

A bell housing;
A solution for the braking system, hydroboost or other depending on your use;
Cooling system if your N/A radiator is insufficient for your use;
Power or manual steering and the associated bits;
Engine accessories such as an alternator, power steering pump, etc depending on the motor you source;
Engine management, again this may or may not come with your motor but you will need to have an ECU programmed in the end;

All that and I am no expert by any stretch.

The Wiki at the top of the page has a list of things to buy. Some of the part numbers are wrong but it will give you an idea.
