If only an inch, try slotting the base of the front shifter (that houses the plastic and ball-joint) and slide the base backwards then tighten back down.

hi rob in the end i through my toys out,i took the centre console out,and trimmed the metal tunnel back an inch or so,now can get all gears perfect, and when its all back together you cant see anything...fixed the driveshaft problem,so thats done, trimmed of the engine mount bolt, had to cut a quarter of the actual bolt for it to fit,but its in now(you have to trim a fair bit of the c/member for the a arm to work up and down...
got to bleed clutch
run new brake lines and fit remote servo
weld up middle and manifold section of exhaust
fit radiator back in and plum up
and a few other small bits...

What size bolt/nut is on those Supra mounts? Did you just slot the X-member or make a small offset adapter?

If you slot the X-member at the uprights then no offset adapter is needed when the Supra mounts themselves are offset from the factory X-member mount holes...My $.03
wow 19mm....The LS mounts are 1/2" bolts/nuts.
