HOW TO DO AN ADVANCED SEARCH.

Mon Jul 08, 2013 3:56 pm by Admin

For the benefit of 944Hybrids users there are two search functions available for you to use.
The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.

When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).

After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

New Hatch Received!!

Post  skywalker01 on Fri Nov 06, 2009 3:45 pm

Got my IFC Racing hatch today - but not without receiving damage during the shipping process.

Much better finish than the GT-Racing hatch. Sure you may pay a little bit more with the IFC Racing hatch, but you don't have the headaches associated with fabricating mounting solutions for the GT-Racing hatch.

I hear it all the time - but then again we're all a little crazy for wanting to exert all of the effort and expense to convert a (in some cases) underpowered, twenty-plus year old, obscure movie icon, into a supercar. I wear the badge proudly Very Happy

[Judicious use of smiley noted] Yeah...the rear does seem naked, doesn't it? I'm looking at this wing, but I think it sticks out too far - I may ask for a custom design.....something closer to the body. [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

As for the chrome rims - I think I am going to use a different paint scheme on the car - since the paint is screwed already. The chrome rims that I posted earlier will probably end up getting paint applied. Playing with Forza Motorsport 2 (only game that has the 944 in it) to see if I can mock up a paint scheme. Rest assured, bling is the furthest thing from my mind!! study

Getting ready to go away for a bit, so in a blatant attempt for some instant gratification, I test fit my front spoiler. Here's what it looks like - before someone asks about the black paint, I used it when sanding in the foglight area to ensure it's smooth/level. Yes - those are yellow wires going to the foglights Very Happy. Going to put perforated steel insert into the 'mouth' and lower slit. All of this is going to get blended into the header panel and the fenders for a 'one-piece' look.

Today was a good day to work on the car. Finally blended the header panel and front spoiler - primered the area to make sure everything was nice and smooth. Now all I need to do for this area is touch up and clean the grill area. Going to have a nice area to mount the crest Smile

question about the wing

Post  modenas on Fri Nov 27, 2009 5:47 pm

on the outer edge i saw the fold and it bent it, i thought for performance and milage you would want it outward to increase down force

I haven't gotten the wing yet - I will ask the guys at IFC about what the best configuration should be.

btw you dont want the wing to be closer to your car, where it is great but closer will hurt you more in the long run. you can also tilt it back more or bring it up closer to the body, DO NOT!! want shorter though.

the wing i am talking about is the one in the pic a few post above

Finally got a chance to start working on the hatch I received from [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]. When it was delivered, it came with a broken window (yes - real glass, not plastic). After a quick phone call to Mike at IFCRacing, he had another one in the mail pronto. The quality of the hatch is top notch and allows for use of stock fittings. Comes with some pretty nice features like the speaker holes/subwoofer registers by the window - by the way, I did the tint. Really looks good with the widebody kit!

I know this should probably go in the SUSPENSION category, but since this post relates to my previous IFCRacing bodykit, I thought I'd post this here. Today I pulled the trigger on rims today - I am going with the Work Meister S1 3P. With my stock .75" spacers in the rear (clearing 968 calipers), they say I can fit 18"x12" with a -30 offset; the fronts will have 18"x11" with -14 offset (clearing Wilwood calipers). I would like to run 305s in the rear and 285s in the front - any comments?? I have a 2-3 month waiting period since they're being custom made in Japan.

Hah! "Too much time on my hands" . . . . that's the main reason it's taken so long for me to finish. I see a light at the end of the tunnel though. I need to just stop looking at the body so I finally get the primer/paint on.

Was the adhesive that you used (8115 3M) the new smaller tubes? If so did you buy the gun for them? Would you be willing to rent it out for a day or two?

I used 08115 for my flares, my sunroof filler panel and to hold the light brackets on my GTS front bumper, also for patch panels for repairing rust.

You can get an applicator gun for $41.07 here:

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

This is a very good price for this. They usually go for around $70-$100.
