HOW TO DO AN ADVANCED SEARCH.
Mon Jul 08, 2013 3:56 pm by Admin
For the benefit of 944Hybrids users there are two search functions available for you to use.
The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.
When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).
After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

It is with sadness that I am placing for sale my uncompleted hybrid project car. I am realizing I do not have the time to complete the project and would rather see it go to a new home. Also, I would like to reclaim space in my 1 car garage which is right now holding both of my 944s.
The 944S was owned previously by a fellow Pelican, Legion, who after completed work on the 16 valve motor took it for a test drive around the block and burst the high pressure fuel line. The fuel ignited on top of the engine mostly melting anything plastic under the hood. The damage was mostly contained to the top of the engine, hood and small section of the fire wall. Upon purchasing the car around 7 years ago, I stripped the engine bay of the engine and any toasted bits to prepare it for the LT1, fresh engine bay paint and wiring harness. The car, as it sits, is a roller and has been kept dry sitting in the corner of the garage under a car cover.
I acquired a 1993 Corvette LT1 crate motor from a mechanic who used to work for Kelly Moss in Madison. I believe this to be a 0 mile motor which turns freely by hand. Since it is a crate motor it still needs things such as the throttle body, front accessories, flywheel (it does have the auto flex plate), bellhousing and other pieces. I also built a Mega Squirt II stand alone engine management system for the car which I am willing to include.
During the project I also acquired a 1985.5 944 parts car from Chitown944 which was T-boned. This now disassembled car provides all the plastic pieces to put the engine compartment back together including the engine wiring harness, chassis wiring harness, ventilation system and a guards red hood. I am willing to include many of the other parts from the parts car in the sale. Remember my goal is to make space in my garage. I may keep the spare transmission and the burnt 944S engine. The 85.5 engine now resides in my '83.
Bring a truck and a flat bed trailer. My neighbor and I can assist you in loading the engine in your truck bed and loading the car onto your flatbed. Let's make this happen before the snow flies.
Please email me at [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] with inquiries.
I will post some pictures of the car soon.

PRICE REDUCTION and Package Options.
I would like to sell out of my 948 project to make room in the garage while reducing the vehicle herd down from my current 6 vehicles. I have all the pictures posted on PelicanParts for your viewing pleasure.
Option 1)
944S roller as shown in pictures on Pelican (minus any engine but includes the 'S' transmission) also includes chassis wiring harness and ventilation system parts from a 85.5 944
$1500
Option 2)
'93 Vette LT1 Crate Engine, zero miles, as shown in photos on Pelican
$1600
Option 3)
'87 944S engine which experienced an engine fire due to burst fuel line. The intake manifold is cracked from the heat and many of the plastic/ rubber components on the top of the engine melted. It appears the rest of the engine was spared. Could be a great individual throttle body project engine.
$600
Option 4)
944S roller as listed in Option 1 including the Vette LT1 listed in Option 2
$3000 (A $500 price reduction from my original listing)
Option 5)
The whole package including the 944S roller listed in Option 1, the Vette LT1 listed in Option 2, and the 944S engine listed in Option 3
$3500
Option 6)
The 944S roller listed in Option 1, and the 944S engine listed in Option 3.
$2000
Spring time is almost here.

Re: FS Uncompleted Project. '87 944S W/ '93 Vette LT1 Crate, MSII Standalone
Would you be willing to sell the MS setup separate ?
Re: FS Uncompleted Project. '87 944S W/ '93 Vette LT1 Crate, MSII Standalone
I have a Pelican interested in just the rolling chassis with no engine. Let me check with him to see if he is interested in the MSII or not.
I built the MS myself and have the stimulator which would come with it. You would need the wiring harness yet.
