For the benefit of 944Hybrids users there are two search functions available for you to use.
The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.
When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).
After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

Re: 1986 944 TURBO 5.3 L33 CONVERSION
although it is possible to press the old suspension bushings out of front arms and rear trailing arms, you would have to build special fixtures to do it without hurting the arms. odd angles. anyhow i gently melted the old bushings out tonight. bottom of car is clean and wire wheeled, ready for paint.
ps 100ton electric over hydraulic press. so i had ooomph behind it, just afraid i was going to break or bend an arm.

new timken front inner and outer wheel bearings with new seals on the way. new timken rear wheel bearings, new kyb front strut inserts, on the way. rally car billet nitrogen adjustable coilovers on the way for the rear shocks. when im done it will be a totally new/rebuilt car mechanically. budget has changed at this point. i will be in the 5500.00 to 6000.00 range. still budget minded overall tho.

Re: 1986 944 TURBO 5.3 L33 CONVERSION
his vette is a stock 1998 c5 coupe, stock rubber suspension bushings, stock struts, stock brakes, stock ls1. my car will be L33 with around 400rwhp, poly bushings, new struts with coilover conversion, new rally coilovers in the rear, boxster brembos, etc etc etc... will be fun when amatuer track day rolls around... lol. last summer i drove his vette at the local track and was 3 seconds faster than him in his own car... lol. thats when he popped off and said "if you only had a porsche that was as capable as my vette and didnt cost 100grand..." thus the purpose of this entire build.
EDIT; i also have another friend with a 1995 c4 vette that he also road races, but he likes 944's.
