HOW TO DO AN ADVANCED SEARCH.

For the benefit of 944Hybrids users there are two search functions available for you to use.
The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.

When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).

After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

This is what you get when you send your manufacturing base overseas...talk about inept....

The inexpensive C5 and T56 throwout bearing issues have been documented on LS1tech.com and other sites. Besides the LEAKY hydralic seals from these cheap units, clutch disengagement/engagement issues are high frequencies and documented on the various sites.

I have ordered 7-8 different Dorman part# CS360058 from Amazon, couple different Ebay sellers, and a few times from Rock Auto without issue as they always showed up with the AP- D951004 casting clearly in their bases and these haven't been reported as leaking like the off-brands that I've seen posted.

I was sent this black anodized version and double checked the throw of it and it would only recess half-way which is NOT GOOD. So I disassembled and to my surprise the inner seal recess was not machined all the way down and the hydraulic ports were not machined either. This one was sent to the final anodizing process and signed off by QC of the manufacturer! This actually doesn't surprise me as I've seen multiple parts from foreign manufacturers with defects over the last 10 years...

The bearing doesn't even sit at the right height and is 0.100" too tall which will cause clutch issues.

This is why I posted this info before.....A properly operating TOB should have these extended and collapsed dimensions and bearing dimensions as well.....

The slave on the L looks like the one I got from Sloan with my kit. It had maybe 200miles on it when I checked my flywheel for balance and the slave was already leaking. I replaced it with an AP from GM parts direct. With the cheap one I needed a shim with the GM part the shim was not needed.
