For the benefit of 944Hybrids users there are two search functions available for you to use.
The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.

When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).

After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

MAF and Intake Setup?

Post  the951racer on Sat Sep 08, 2012 8:13 am

Hey guys, looking at a 4" intake with a LS7 MAF for my LS1 build. Any pros or cons for certain MAFs? And will this setup work? Now don't have the motor in yet but, I'm still stacking parts. Hood clearance? Tuning issues? Thanks a lot

I'm not sure what the LS7 maf looks like, but the ones i see on ebay (which could be inserted into a standard piece of intake pipe) would probably be easy.

Basically, if the MAF is 4" round then it will be easy, anything other than that and it gets harder and harder. Post up a pic or a link!

Guy was selling one with a 4" intake setup for $250 bucks on my trailblazer ss forum. Didn's have any pics. It's sold already....oh well. Prob can find one cheaper without the intake since I'm sure I'll have to modify it anyway.

They're on ebay for $200.
Personally i've had a lot of trouble with those style MAFs. You wind up with a lot of turbulence that is hard to tune out unless you have a properly-engineered air intake to go with it. I would suggest sticking with something a little more tried-and-true, like an LS6 MAF. It won't be limiting your power anyways.
