HOW TO DO AN ADVANCED SEARCH.
Mon Jul 08, 2013 3:56 pm by Admin
For the benefit of 944Hybrids users there are two search functions available for you to use.
The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.
When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).

School me on manual rack + 3/4" xmbr drop
I've looked but haven't found the answer yet, though I'm sure it's on here somewhere. I'm switching to a manual steering rack, and I know I have a bunch of parts I need to get beyond the rack itself (got that already). When I bought one of xschop's kits, I know he included a "bump-steer tie-rod drop block" that I'm assuming corrects the steering geometry now that the rack is 3/4" lower, but the control arm is in the same spot as before.
Anyway, what I'm unclear on is where all these parts fit together, and which additional parts I need. I assume the order on a side is: rack > inner tie rod > tie-rod drop block > outer tie rod end > spindle. But I'm sorta swimming in parts numbers right now and have suitably lost myself. Does anyone have a pic of how one side of the rack goes together in the aforementioned config? Just that would probably get me most of the way.
