The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.

When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).

After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

Any power steering fittings i should save?

Post  Techno Duck on Mon Apr 16, 2012 12:16 am

Was wondering if i should save any of the power steering fittings off the original Porsche system, in particular the ones that attach at the rack? Are they needed for the custom lines to the f-body style pump or should i be able to find fittings for everything. Every line in my PS system is new, so it would break my heart to cut up the lines for the fittings. A friend is buying my long block so i figure i can maybe trade for his old PS lines if need be, otherwise ill just put these up for sale!

PS Fittings

FYI...I purchased metric to AN fittings for the steering rack and also a AN fitting for the GM PS Pump.
Remember to use steel fittings and high pressure hose on the pressure side of the system.
Sell or give your old Porsche lines away.

Keep the banjo fitting for the return line. I reuse it as well as the high pressure line. I cut the line just where it starts to head to the passenger side of the car and weld on a male fitting (AN 6 weld nut) makes it much easier to fit you lines later.
