HOW TO DO AN ADVANCED SEARCH.

Mon Jul 08, 2013 3:56 pm by Admin

For the benefit of 944Hybrids users there are two search functions available for you to use.
The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.

When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).

After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

Thanks to all here for the valuable info and help. It would have taken alot longer without the help.

Here is a video of my "finished" car. (the car is an on-going project never finished but it is driven daily.)

Build thread showing all my fabrication and mods here.

There will be more added to the thread later such as alternator mounts, power steering, tranny etc.

Joe,
Just read you entire build thread. Great work , car sounds awesome.
Makes me miss mine, I have nearly the same setup as you except mine is stroked to a 385ci.
I haven't heard mine run in nearly a year...... Crying or Very sad
Do you plan to Dyno it?
Just a word of advice, try to move the air filter or build a box around it so that it get cold out side air. With it sitting in the engine bay area the IAT's will be through the roof. You'll loose a ton of power.

Since I cant use the camaro intake boot with the bigger 58mm throttle body I have been thinking of installing a totally new intake setup that routes to the passenger side. I have a carerra GT hood which has the huge honking hood scoop on the passenger side, great for pumping cold air to a filter.

I would like to have the computer tuned on the dyno, but I dont know much about the GM computers, and dont know what my best option is. I dont know if it would be best to have it dyno tuned, or send my engine and vehicle specs off to a programmer and have it programmed out of the car, or buy the programs and do it myself. I dont want to get too expensive or waste alot of my time tuning it, but I dont want a halfass setup either.

Personally, I'd take it to a dyno tuner and let them tune it; those guys know what they're doing. I was going to take mine to a tuner and I was quoted 450$ (in Ontario, Canada). I think it would be worth it for an engine like yours.

I just finished my LT1 and got it re-programmed; I found a guy who got his car dyno tuned and I used his modified program and I'm really happy with the way it runs. I could just imagine what another 100HP would feel like Twisted Evil I drove it to work for it's first long distance trip (150km total) yesterday!
