HOW TO DO AN ADVANCED SEARCH.
Mon Jul 08, 2013 3:56 pm by Admin
For the benefit of 944Hybrids users there are two search functions available for you to use.
The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.
When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).
After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

944 Conversion Manual
Does anybody have one of the conversion manuals? I would love to have one but, it seems that they are no longer available from Greg Sloan. Let me know if you have one or if you can make a copy of one for me. I would love to buy one. Thanks guys.
Oh and Greg Sloan's email is no longer active....

Re: 944 Conversion Manual
Greg disappeared, and rightfully so. He screwed over a bunch of guys on here. What's sad is we worry so much about duplication of the manual due to legal reasons, but Greg himself took money from people and gave nothing in return.
The Wiki link above next to Home and all the information on this site should get you started. There wasn't that much added to the manual (I have one) and some of the information is incorrect. Maybe one day I or another successful swapper will write a new manual. Until then, your best resources are here and the wiki.

Re: 944 Conversion Manual
All of the information in the manual can be found on the site and on the Wiki as said above. The manual is not a step by step cookbook on how to build a car. It is a collection of articles and information which cuts down your searching time, initially. If you do find a link to buy one, it will never show up.

Re: 944 Conversion Manual
My guess is if anyone posted the manual on this site complete that Greg would be wise to just leave it alone. If he tried taking any legal action that would open the door for people to know who and where he is to take legal action of their own for theft of funds. It's not like anyone is trying to sell the info!

Re: 944 Conversion Manual
Most of the information is already here or somewhere on the net. If it not,it's probably out dated anyway..... A lot of things that are in there are not 100% correct or have been changed .
What information do you need?

Re: 944 Conversion Manual
Thanks for the replies guys. I am in the beginning stages of removing my stock 2.5 and I just had some newb questions that are prob on here somewhere. Some examples are like what I need to keep of the main harness if anything. My understanding was that I am scrapping the whole thing including the DME and KLR. Also, what do I need to do about cooling? Can I use the factory fans and radiator and sell the intercooler, pipes, etc? Still learning as I go so try to hang with me. Ha

You can use your factory radiator, but you should replace it with a new one. I stupidly ran my old radiator this past season and towards the end of the season it was abundantly clear it was struggling to keep up. It was one of the first things I replaced this off season.

New factory radiator should be good. Or, get the original turbo radiator cleaned out.

I got a new turbo radiator. Buy a new one, don't get your old one cleaned out.

Yea I just like to have a "manual" within reach whenever I'm doing something like this. Even though this swap is the most extreme thing I have done in the automotive world. And they don't really make a Haynes manual for this. Ha. What would you want for it?

Re: 944 Conversion Manual
I should think $40 would be fair with shipping? I'm in Canada so shipping would be a big part of that.

If you paid VIA paypal file a dispute and do a charge back on your credit card. If you paid VIA check stop payment on it.

Clarify your dispute

Sam, you need to clarify who you have a dispute with. I am assuming that you are referring to Sloan due to the amount you said you sent via PayPal. Who did you talk with about it anyway? The email connected to the "Sloan" manual is no longer active. Just want to keep reps clean so just clear that up. Thanks.

File a dispute prior to the 45 days or they will do nothing to help you.

Re: 944 Conversion Manual
I sent him an email to [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] from my gmail acct and he told me to paypal him the money. No response was ever made after I sent the 54.95, He hasn't replied to my emails either.
I put a dispute into paypal last night and I guess they will take it from there.
Thanks for the help guys. I will keep you informned of what the outcome is.

Wow. Sorry to hear that man. Par for the course when dealing with that guy. Ridiculous that he is still ripping people off. Once a conman always a conman I guess.
