HOW TO DO AN ADVANCED SEARCH.

Mon Jul 08, 2013 3:56 pm by Admin

For the benefit of 944Hybrids users there are two search functions available for you to use.
The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.

When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).

After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

Nice guys, BUT........Watch what you buy from them. I would back up what you buy with an email, because they will blame you if they make a mistake.

They have called me a liar over the phone, then I forwarded them the I sent email. An apology followed shortly.

They will try to sell you on everything, they sold me on a "tune" then later said it was just a baseline after they received my money. That you cannot get a car tuned remotely. Kinda funny that they did not mention that when they were selling me the tune.

I have done remote tunes with my other car and I have gotten my car close if not perfect.

***I bought my harness from them and it was nice.

I have to agree with you, I feel the same way.

I had a problem with the loom they modified, my fans ran continually, after numerous email exchanges where they wanted me to check the fan wiring that they had done I found nothing wrong. They insisted that that is where the fault was.

I researchd the PCM Fan functions and came to the conclusion the the PCM was getting a AC " high pressure" signal. The three pressure sensor wires were present at the PCM connector but no apparant termination. I assumed that they were hidden in the loom and maybe connected . After cutting the signal wire close to the PCM connector the problem went away.

SSP never apologised, in fact they blamed my installation work for the problem.

I was accused of being "condescending"........for knowing what I was doing?? I am a licensed Aircraft Mechanic, A+ computer etc etc guess I don't go to them again.

lol. They said I had an attitude after they sent me the wrong part.

They talked me into going speed density, then when I spoke to them again, they said speed density is not that great for everyday driving. I was like WTF.

It pisses me off that I spent money on a "tune" with them, and for them to say that its just for a baseline. My car idled like sh*t with their tune and I was blowing smoke signals from my house due to how rich the car was running. The new"baseline" I have is a lot smoother... My spare ECU ran better than what they had and it had a stock file minus the immobilizer stuff disabled.

I guess you live and learn the hard way.

SSP Wiring Empty Running rich

Post  fliermike45 Thu Feb 09, 2012 8:59 pm

Aixgelo,
My tune stinks, when I first ran the car the back was coated in soot.

I sent the PCM back along with a flow sheet for my cleaned injectors. They did re flash it but I was blamed because I got the injectors cleaned after they did the first tune.

It still idles high and stumbles when you come off a trailing throttle or at idle say at a red light.

I'm going to buy another PCM, who did your second tune? I need a real standard C5 tune.

I have a PCM in the for sale section that already has a tune on it. The details are in the thread if it suits your needs let me know, the price is negotiable. As for SSP they have a bad reputation on LS1tech.com.

The best! Did my LS3 computer, sent it back fast and it ran perfect right out of the box. Super nice guy too.

Frost tuned my computer that is for sale. I couldn't use it because it didn't fit my wire harness.

Doing research on LS1tech, Frost was the guy to go to. Texas Speed also has great reviews.

From what I read, any bolt on mods, a mail order tune is fine. Any cams and other work, you cannot beat somebody there tuning on the fly.

Mike,

These guys are 45 min from me. I sent my ECU to them for a baseline, then will finish with a full dyno tune after I work out all the bugs out of the car.
