Mon Jul 08, 2013 3:56 pm by Admin

For the benefit of 944Hybrids users there are two search functions available for you to use.
The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.

When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).

After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

LM7 conversion - Oil pan Empty LM7 conversion - Oil pan

I tried searching for this, what seems like a very obvious item, on the forums, but not a thing. I'm assuming I don't know how to use the search feature....anyways...

I have a LM7 that I've slowly been putting parts on to bring the size down so it will fit under the hood =p The oil pan is whats in question. Will the oil pan from a 04-06 GTO (LS1,LS2) work for this conversion?
Appreciate any and all help. Thanks!

Welcome!

No stock oil pans have worked without custom crossmembers and/or engine mounts. You need a modified oil pan made especially for our cars... Go here and scroll down a bit.

The search feature works better when you use the google search under advanced search feature.

I'm in the same boat. LM7 swap. Can anybody confirm that the dimensions described in the 944V8 wiki manual needed to modify a Moroso as a base are valid?

http://944hybrids.pbworks.com/w/file/23370642/Moroso%2020140%20Oil%20Pan%20Modifications.jpg

I've tried using the advanced search function (Google checked) and I'm not finding any specific info
or a drawing/schematic. Anyone have? Or anyone have a better drawing/plan/different oil pan to modify?
Want to save some bucks and fabricate myself.

Thanks!
