HOW TO DO AN ADVANCED SEARCH.

Mon Jul 08, 2013 3:56 pm by Admin

For the benefit of 944Hybrids users there are two search functions available for you to use.
The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.

When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).

After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

Just a question if someone has experienced this. I recently had a fire in my engine bay due to leaking gas lines. I have since replaced all the items under my hood to include the wiring harness, intake manifold and just about anything else that was plastic or that had burned. My issue now is my hydraulic clutch line. I got a brand new one from TPC but I can't seem to get the connections at the bellhousing off. Is there a recommended way to disconnect this adapter line because I can't seem to get it apart. This is the only thing keeping me from driving my car! Everything else has been replaced! It cranks and sounds great! Can the cotter pin be remove so that the entire connection comes out? Someone please help! Been trying to remove and replace this line for a few days now. Any information will be greatly appreciated!

There is an adapter between the slave cylinder and braided line. I haven't tried getting to it with the engine and bellhousing attached, probably tight. Do you have the 2 piece Vette bellhousing?

I doubt you can get the adapter out with the engine in. Someone must have really tighten the hose onto the adpter, it doesn't need to be all that tight to seal.

I have the two piece bellhousing and I even cut the line to try and slip a scocket on the top with no success. I see that the adaptor plate mounted to the bellhousing has a hold in the exact spot where the cotter pin is located. I can even get and Allen wrench through the hole. I hate to think that I will have to pull the motor out just to change this line.

I finally had time to replace this line replaced today. I had a machinest fabicate another tool which allowed me to disconnect the line. Feels like Christmas again! Today is the first day that I have driven my car in over a year. I did not have to remove the engine just to replace this line which I thought I was going to have to do. Thanks guys for your input. Time to enjoy this car some more!
