For the benefit of 944Hybrids users there are two search functions available for you to use.
The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.
When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).

Firewall grommet
Looking for some ideas on how to seal up the hole left where the original engine harness went through the firewall. I'm going to mount my pcm where the dme used to be, so I'll be running the new harness through the same hole. I was thinking to use the porsche snorkel, but that might require de-pinning the whole harness to get the connectors through.

Use the original Porsche harness garment. Just slice it neatly along the bottom , pull everything Porsche related out. Clean it up, slide it over your GM harness in the area that you need it to be, then just fill it full of urethane , wrap it in black tape very neatly and your done. Fits like factory and no leaks!
Re: Firewall grommet
If like me you find that you can sell the original harness for some cash and you can't re-use the original rubber boot..... pick up a cv joint split boot. I found one that fit perfectly in the firewall and nicely around the harness. I also back filled the neck with RTV and the area around the firewall connection.

ah.... a CV boot; great idea! I'm missing the rubber grommet too because I sold the wiring harness complete. I'm going to have to put that on the list for the spring! Thanks
