After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

time for something else to go wrong with my conversion...this is definitely not supposed to happen on a new alternator...lucky i have a 1 year warranty so i can get a new one for free...but i'm going to go ahead and buy a new Powermaster, maybe it will last better.....

Major thing with the LTx engines is to make sure your belt is not crazy tight and I always run a brace from the back of the alt to a manifold stud, much like the factory. Might have to do a little fab work but it is pretty easy.

If it was cast in Mexico, the alloy and process is sh$tty. Dodge truck rims are being recalled for the same defect.

hmmm i wouldn't be surprised if it was cast in mexico...

about the mount, i actually have an Alterstart Systems 227r low mount alternator bracket that i had it mounted on...and i think the brackets on the alternator were wrong (they probably sent me a 7860 instead of a 7861 because the brackets were flipped...the thick one was where the thin one was supposed to be...) i will look into fabbing up an extra support bracket.
