For the benefit of 944Hybrids users there are two search functions available for you to use.
The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.

When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).

After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

Engine location - Offset? Empty Engine location - Offset?

Well, I was measuring the area under the nose panel for a potential intake setup, and noticed my engine is not exactly centered. It is about 3/4 inch or so closer to the passenger side. What are you guys seeing with yours? The thing is, there is not a whole lt of room between the driver's side header and the frame rail. So I don't even know if I can correct this. Evil or Very Mad

You're fine. Even after moving my engine back, I left it about 3/4" to the passenger side for more steering shaft/header clearance for when the rubber engine mounts begin to sag (then I'll go poly).
If you think about it the rear CV's don't even see a degree in change....

I think every V8 out there is set to one side a little, Even our V6 conversion that we are working on is set to one side .

Tjanks for the replies, this was driving me nuts! Skywalker was kind enough to measure his last night, his is dead center. I had visions of digging out the cherry picker to shift the engine.

I was searching for something else and came across this thread. This has been driving me nuts for months as I couldn't do better than 3/4" off set and had visions of headers not fitting. Good to know.
